QuickDraw Scholarships

The purpose of QuickDraw is to both promote the region as a center for arts and crafts, and aid young emerging artists by bestowing grants and scholarships to encourage and inspire further study. Last year $6,000 was awarded to seniors in the Haywood County Schools to finance any form of post high school visual art studies.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Graduating senior from Haywood County Schools
• 2.5 Grade Point Average
• Demonstrate aptitude in art
• Preference given to students who major in art or art related field
• Academic achievement
• Participation in extracurricular activities and community service
• Financial Need

PROCESS
The QuickDraw committee will review and make a recommendation for the recipient of the scholarship. The selection process shall consist of a review and evaluation of the scholarship application and possibly a personal interview. The Board of Directors of the Foundation will make the final decision on the recipient of this scholarship. The Board’s decision shall be final. The Haywood County Schools Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt charitable foundation, will administer the scholarship fund.

PAYMENT OF AWARDS
Payment of scholarship awards will be made at the beginning of the school year or at the beginning of each semester. Checks will be made payable to the school for student’s account and will be forwarded to the financial aid office. Cannot receive FULL scholarship from any other source in order to receive the scholarship. A copy of the previous semester grades is required to be submitted to the Foundation before further payment will occur.
