Haywood County Schools Foundation Scholarships

The board of directors of the Haywood County Schools Foundation is committed to providing scholarships to senior in the Haywood County public schools. The foundation board realizes the need for students graduating from high school to attend a post secondary school. Funds from our annual fund raising events will be used to provide scholarships for students in the Haywood County Public Schools. Last year $6,000 was available.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• A graduating senior from the Haywood County Schools
• Financial need
• Community involvement and extra-curricular activities
• Scholastic achievement

PROCESS

The Haywood County Schools Foundation scholarship committee will review and select the recipients. The selection process shall consist of a review and evaluation of the scholarship application and possibly a personal interview. The Board of Directors of the Foundation will make the final decision on the recipients of this scholarship. The Board’s decision shall be final. The Haywood County Schools Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt charitable foundation, will administer the scholarship fund.

PAYMENT OF AWARDS

Payment of scholarship awards will be made at the beginning of the school year or at the beginning of each semester. Checks will be made payable to the school for student’s account and will be forwarded to the financial aid office. A copy of the previous semester grades is required to be submitted to the Foundation before further payment will occur. Cannot receive FULL scholarship from any other source in order to receive the scholarship. The Haywood County Schools Foundation reserves the right to revoke the scholarship if the guidelines are not met.
