Dustin Travis Moody Memorial Scholarship

In April of 2008 Dustin Moody competed as a member of the Tuscola High School Track team in a conference meet and achieved one of his life long dreams of eclipsing the six-foot barrier in the high jump. The following week a tragic accident took his life and through his family, friends, co-workers, businesses and people who didn’t even know him a memorial scholarship has been established through the foundation. He was a senior at Tuscola High School and after graduation he was planning to attend Western Carolina University to pursue a degree in Radiology. Besides being a member of the track team, Dustin loved to snowboard, was passionate about basketball, and active in his youth group at church. In the spring of 2009 the first scholarship will be awarded to a student who will attend Western Carolina University, pursuing a degree in the medical field, involved in athletic activities, a good student and someone who needs financial assistance to attend college. The amount of the scholarship will be determined by the funds available for distribution next year.
